Altoona Regional Health System was formed on November 1, 2004, as a result of Altoona and Bon Secours-Holy Family hospitals, along with many health system-affiliated companies, joining together. Altoona Regional is a charitable, not-for-profit health care system governed by a volunteer community board of directors. Acute care services are provided at two hospital campuses, the Altoona Hospital Campus and the Bon Secours Hospital Campus. The hospitals are licensed for a combined 509 beds.
